Happy Tuesday! We finally got a chance to pull together our Mother/Daughter Remix, although a day late. But hey, sometimes real life things happen. Today we thought we would remix the berry colored skirt. Heather has had hers from New York & Company for quite some time and this skirt has become quite a closet essential. Kayla finally found one very similar at Forever 21 during the Christmas holiday. We are not sure why this colored skirt hasn't ever gone into the remix rotation, because the remixing possibilities are endless!

This berry colored skirt is a great building block for pairing with other brights, neutrals, monochromatic looks, and animal print. It's also a nice alternative to red.
What's your favorite colored skirt to wear?
Also, we just wanted to say that we have been a little behind in commenting on your blogs. We have still been reading them and we love all of you, but things have been pretty hectic these past few weeks. Please bear with us!
Same skirt and so many awesome looks, great job! Hope you are enjoying "real life" and have a wonderful week!

This is probably one of my favorite remixes to date! The color of that skirt is absolutely amazing - very rich and bright. But you both proved how versatile it can be. I really love how Kayla paired it with the slouchy white tee and boots. It's a great casual look and I would definitely wear it myself. Thanks for sharing, ladies!

love this skirt! the color is fantastical on both of you! xoxo
ReplyDeleteLOVE this remix, and those great berry colored pencil skirts. Heather's first look is just like sherbert, I love the play on berry tones. I love Kayla's off the shoulder top, it definitely makes the skirt look a bit more casual.
ReplyDeleteI just got a bright red/orange skirt that is quickly becoming one of my favorites!
Heather, I love how you paired the skirt with with all those other muted colors.
ReplyDeleteKyla, love it with leopard!!
Cute, cute!! Love the leopard print! #2 was a really creative way to mix it with other colors and then #3 was a bolder version. This is the stuff that inspires me to look at color combos a different way. I like the off the shoulder top with the boots, it gave the skirt a casual vibe. Good job as always! :-)

ReplyDeleteso glad you brought it out of the closet!

I love this remix. What a beautiful color on both of you:)

Very nicely done as always! I don't have a skirt in this colour, and I know this sounds bad but my favorite skirt colour of choice is...drumroll please..........BLACK! AHHAHAHA!
ReplyDeleteSome great remix ideas. I think royal blue is still my favorite pairing with berry. However I also like the tonal look Heather is doing.
ReplyDeleteLove the skirt & outfits! Looking good as always. I love wearing a hot pink skirt that I bought at Nordstrom rack:)
ReplyDeleteLove this skirt! It goes with so much!
ReplyDeleteCute Skirt. I have a light Purple.
ReplyDeleteSo cute! I have red skirt that I'd like to remix. I'm trying to remix it for work, but it's tough.
ReplyDeleteI love how the skirts are very similar, but different enough to flatter your body types!
ReplyDeleteKayla's turquoise and berry combo is incredible!
ReplyDeleteI really adore my berry pencil skirt - thanks for all the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteChic on the Cheap
Now I wish I had a berry skirt! hahaha The possibilities are endless. It's so versatile and goes with so many colors and prints. :D

This is a beautiful piece. I like how pairing it with a looser off-the-shoulder top takes it from structured and work-like to more sexy.
ReplyDeleteI love that you can pair this color with almost any other color, because I never would have considered doing that in the past. Now I'm thinking the blue and raspberry combo is my favorite of the bunch!
ReplyDeleteOooh the color is so lovely! I love how Kayla wore it with the slouchy top! So chic!

That skirt is adorable! I love every way it can be worn. The over-the-shoulder top on Kayla is so cute! ~Michelle
ReplyDeleteMy cobalt pencil skirt is my favorite to wear, but now you made me want to get a berry colored skirt! I love all of these looks!
ReplyDeleteWhat an absolutely fabulous colour! So much pop!!
ReplyDeleteLove this! Your first version, Heather, with the peach cardigan, is an inspired mix of shades. Fab! The fit is great on both of you.
ReplyDeleteI have a berry skirt too! I like how Kayla paired hers with the blue top.
ReplyDeleteDon't worry about being behind on commenting on other blogs. Sure, commenting helps you grow your readership, but there will come a time when it will be too much to handle.
I read a great ebook called "Simple Blogging" by Rachel Meeks from the Small Notebook blog (smallnotebook.org). Her blog has thousands of followers, and she explains how you have to appreciate the comments for what they are and reply to just a select few. Easier said than done--but your blog is getting larger and I don't want you both to burnout!
Magenta/berry is your color. This must be my favorite remix since this skirt fits both of you like a glove. I'm not even going to bother picking my favorite looks because I love them all.
ReplyDeleteLove your berry skirts ladies. I actually have a berry pencil skirt of my own from The Limited. I would still love a Cobalt one, a Turquoise one, a Yellow one and a Kelly Green one. I also have a couple Red pencil skirts, a Lavender one and I am sure a few more colored ones.
ReplyDeleteThis is one of my favorite remixes up to date. I think berry colors look amazing against blues, especially bright blues. My favorites here are the 1st looks from each one of you, as well as K's 2nd look - that color combo is perfection and the sequined Toms look amazing, too.
