Yelling Red

Cardigan (New York & Co), Skirt (Express, thrifted), Shoes (old, Payless), Necklace & Pin (Premier Designs)

Up Close of the Pin & Necklace
The color of this cardigan on the New York & Company website was called Yelling Red.  I thought that was a pretty cool name for a color, plus I needed a new red cardigan, so this was a purchase for myself for Mother's Day.  Another thing yelling at me today?  My muscles!  I planted, mulched, cut, and did all kinds of yard work and I worked muscles I didn't even think I had.  This is one of my favorite color combos (black, white and red) and I thought this black and white striped seersucker skirt would be a perfect match with the red cardigan.  This outfit also gave me a chance to pull out my new purchase of the necklace and pin from Premier Design Jewelry. A friend of mine had a jewelry party, and Kayla and I both fell in love with this pin.

Oh, speaking of Kayla, she passed her drivers exam last week!  I was proud and yet sad that she got it.  It's another milestone in her life (insert sad face).

In case you missed it earlier today, eShakti is offering H&K Style Journey readers a giveaway.  Head on over to this post so you can check it out.

Have a great rest of your Monday everyone!  Things will be hectic for another couple weeks until school is out, but then after that we should be back up and running with regular posts!

  7. Woohoo! Go Kayla!
And Heather - think of it this way. The next time Kayla asks for the keys and wants to stay out late, you can say what my parents always did: "You may not have a curfew, but the car does!!"

  9. Great idea adding that pin to the necklace. It gives a bit of a vintage-y vibe. Yelling red is an awesome name!! Maybe someone will put it on a lipstick soon. In appreciation of all your hard work, I will say the bit of garden visible in the first photo looks beautiful!! The colour really stands out against the siding. And congrats to Kayla.
