Have any of you got on the midi skirt train? Out of all the blogs I have read, you either love them or hate them. They do hit at a funny part of your legs, so the rule I always follow is to wear them with heels. This is just my rule, not really THE rule to wearing midis, but it seems to work for my height. This midi skirt was purchased back in the winter on super clearance and I thought I would wear it a ton this summer. No, not so much. It kind of got forgotten about in my mess of a closet. So I pulled it out and tried to pull as many colors from the skirt with the rest of my outfit. The pinkish/orange skirt, the green shoes, and the purple necklace pulled it all together. Plus, the skirt is super flowy and I kept wanting to spin around all day at work. Who wouldn't want to wear something that makes them want to spin?
cute necklace :)
ReplyDeleteThis is a really cute outfit Heather! I love the skirt, and the jewelry looks great!
ReplyDeleteVery cute. I agree about the heels -- they make the length work.
ReplyDeleteI have an unusual problem in that my (giant) size makes clothes look different on me than for the women they are designed for. Skirts and dresses are always 3-5 shorter than intended, which can be unexpectedly good or bad. Often, ankle-length skirts hit my calves right like yours here, which is an interesting place for them to be. When they do, I've learned (as you point out) that heels are a necessity to balance everything out.
I like how sophisticated the discussion about fashion is here on your blog. It's like fun education.
Oh, I think it looks really pretty on you! I actually like wearing midi skirts to church. They make me feel prim and proper. =)
ReplyDeleteI really like the skirt. I agree that its more flattering to wear heels when wearing a midi skirt. I'm short so I absolutely have to wear it that way.
ReplyDeleteBTW....I love a twirly skirt!!!!
I actually like the midi skirt trend. I have a few of them myself, but I usually pair them with heels since they can cut a shorter gal like myself down. Love this one that you're sporting, Heather! The pattern is so pretty and it looks great paired with those green/teal/blue (can't tell from the photo) shoes!

Oooh, I really like that pattern paired with those green shoes! And yes, I'm the same way...I can only manage a midi if I'm wearing heels with it :)
ReplyDeleteI think it depends on your height. I'm tall, so I love them. My shorter counterparts tend to hate them, so I definitely understand that. Yours looks great Heather. I love the print and that pink top looks great with it.

I love all of the colors!! I'm cool with the midi length, but I absolutely can't stand the "mullet" dresses/skirts. I just want to scream, "pick a length!"
ReplyDeleteI just got a mid length skirt today
ReplyDeleteLove how you styled this midi! Makes me want one!
ReplyDeleteI love Midi skirts and ones that are just a little bit below the knee. I have worn them a lot this summer if you look at my blog and own several of them, actually. I especially adore them in a floral print. Your skirt is gorgeous and it goes with so many colors just like you showed us. =) Awesome shoes & necklace.
